"The Basics" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
These are the most basic tricks. They are the easiest to do and probably the most used in the combos. Easy: Sit- This is where you jump then land on you butt with your feet straight out in front of you. Make sure you don't land on your heels first or you'll stretch out your legs too far. Knee- This is when you jump then land on your knees. Make sure you don't lean too far forwards or you will get launched forwards. Back- This is when you jump up and land on your back. The best way to do this is to land mostly on the back of your neck. Keep your head flat, don't try to put your chin down or you'll get whiplash. Don't jump too much on your head or it will hurt and don't land too much sitting up or you'll get thrown backwards and get whiplash. Medium: Flip- One of the harder basics, but fun and a main trick in trampoline jumping. Get a very high bounce and without trying to go forwards, just up, throw your arms forward and down at the same time you lift your feet up and over your head. When you throw your hands down grab your ankles, it helps rotation and gets you in a nice tuck. Landing is the hardest part. If you have enough height, you should untuck at just the right time and see the mat. Then just put your feet out and land it. Backflip- Harder than the flip, but still medium. This trick hard only because of the mental fear. Most people think they are going to break their neck, but if you follow these instructions exactly, you won't. To first begin doing backflilps, it might be best to start it just a little closer to the edge your facing, but not too close or you'll get thrown backwards. Jump very high, it's important to get lots of height. On your way up from your strongest bounce, throw your feet up and backwards over your head. While doing this, bend your knees and put your hands under the bottom of your thigh to help pull your self up. Make sure you don't bounce backwards, or you might fall off the other side. Remember: A good flip is one that is landed in the same spot where it's started. Hard: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
